Between the birthdays

There was brief confusion about who I'd brought this cake for as the mummy's birthday was on Fri 3rd and small boy's birthday is on this coming Tuesday. It was for the grown up!

The speed at which small boy removed the (still smoking and glowing) candles off the cake, was incredible and somewhat anxiety provoking.

My good intentions to make a cake were overtaken by other things so the wonderful world of Waitrose did the business instead. It was nice to treat J today with gifts of clothes (bought together - I'd NEVER risk buying her stuff without her!), flowers, cake and indulgent Neal's Yard bath stuff.  And small boy liked his book of Paddington stories, a welcome relief to his parents who are somewhat 'Ruperted' out.
