Trellech Walk
Even though my son has split from his girlfriend, she's more than happy for us to take her dogs out for a walk anytime. They're such characters and well behaved, it's a joy.
We know Trellech (just outside Monmouth) pretty well as we do a lot of walks starting in the village, so we did a long walk through the woods. We were hoping to see the bluebells out, but they were non existent. Looks like it will be another month.
Half way through the walk, this pheasant didn't think twice in making an escape from the dogs that were running around. I don't think they even spotted it as they'd have been chasing it. Luckily I had the zoom lens on and was able to grab a couple of shots. It sort of reminds me of Famous Grouse Whiskey! It was either this or a landscape. The sun seemed to stop shining as we started the walk, and as it was a bit overcast, it wasn't ideal for landscapes. So the pheasant is todays winner!
