Beside The Seaside
James Joyce said it all when he referred to the "snotgreen sea"
The Irish Sea may not be an azure blue nor have a wonderful warmth, but oh does it have moods and drama.Today I took the train to Blackpool and walked down to North Shore where it was high tide. To sit on a step as close as one could safely get was exhilarating. Not only could I smell , hear , feel , taste and see the sea I could watch the waves , droplets and foam, plus a rolling sea mist .As this reached the shore it actually shrouded most of Blackpool Tower. ....It was rather mystical. Later as the tide went out the gulls came wading for mussels .They too made lovely blips but I've opted for just this .Droplets of the snot green sea held forever in time by a blip .
