Beijing: Early Morning Line Up

This year Easter Sunday and Qing Ming Jie (tomb sweeping festival) fall on the same day, something I find a little spooky.  An appropriate day then to visit Chairman Mao in his mausoleum, something we've been meaning to do for many years.  

Quite an experience - and yes, we expected to wait.  We joined the already impressive line at 6.50am, the mausoleum opened at 7.30am, and we were out by 8:30am, having spent our 30 precious seconds in the presence of Mr Mao.
