It's funny how you can live in a place and not know about things .... we have lived here in Buxted for over 12 years and I have only just discovered that Winston Graham, the author of the Poldark books and also Marnie (and many many others), lived in a house about two fields away from us, and is buried in the churchyard I walk through most days ...
In fact he died in 2003, so was still there when we moved here .... 

I may never have discovered this fact ...if they hadn't made a new series of Poldark on TV, which some say is a load of tosh, while others (myself included) are happy just to admire the scenery........
