Meadow Pipit
We spent today in the very North of the Peak District / South Pennines and took a walk up to Chew Reservoir, the reservoir was the highest in England (1600 ft / 488m) until 1971 when the Cow Green Res was opened in Teeside. The day started in thick fog which on getting to the top of the climb cleared beautifully. Exactly the opposite to the last time we were up here.
I had a choice of landscape or wildlife shots today but as usual the wildlife won out, in particular this little Pipit did as they stole the memory of the day with there continual beautiful song flights in the otherwise silent sunny uplands. There were also the occasional grouse and I also liked the shot I just put on flickr
