Garden, day 3, The Herbs.

I did not sleep well, I was too hot.  Haven't had that problem for a while.

Yesterday was the hottest day in Scotland since Hallowe'en, 19 deg, and today looked like it was going to be a more of the same.  There were a few clouds later on but it was still a fantastic today.

After finishing the tidying up from yesterday, empty dishwasher, fill dishwasher, it was au jardin!  Now the tree has gone I will be able to grow things on that side of the garden so it was moving fence mounted pots and baskets and putting up trellis.  That took longer then I'd anticipated. and required a deal more hammering.  More bluebell howking, I am really getting to grips with them. I will leave a few the I've taken out masses.  It is the small bulblets, miss one and it will grow huge.  I did plant bulbs, the remains form the autumn, I know it's not the time but at least they are in.

I finally made my herb garden, realising that I have a surfeit of coriander and flat leaf parsley.  I should have bought the apple mint yesterday, not the coriander, or parsley.  So now I've moved plants out of container sat the back door and I have mint, chocolate mint, chives, coriander, flat leaf parsley, ordinary sage, lemon balm and, inherited, and slightly further away, a rosemary bush. I replanted the plants I'd had to shift,  planted some jasmine, repotted and planted clematis, 'watered in' the lawn treatment that had suffered in the winter and got very soggy.

Then I had to take Molly to the vet.  her tail problem isn't a bit, more a crushing injury.  No treatment at present (although I am still £30+ lighter) but worse case scenario, the amputation of the end of her tail.

Home to leat yesterday's leftovers and watch 'Uni Challenge'.

Tomorrow is my last day off.  The schedule, tidy the summerhouse, plant some seeds, feed some plants, weed the paths and drive, tidy the front.  And if there is time, oil the outdoor furniture. Then that will be me, ready for summer, bring it on.
