A good day for sailing

The sail boats were out on Lake Como this afternoon, but it was not a day for the faint-hearted. The white horses rose up as the day went on, the cafés were full and the tourist boats were empty.

We returned to a more wintry Engadine than we had left, the lakes had frozen and were snow covered and temperatures were back below freezing.
