Red again
The traffic was snarling up on the M40 so we came off near High Wycombe and stopped for a while to watch the Red Kites soaring in the late afternoon sunshine. I'm old enough to remember when these were rare. I saw my first one in West Wales from where the hundreds that now pack the skies around the Chilterns originated. I bet the locals pay little heed to them anymore but I'm not sure I'd get bored of watching them.
It was good to call on the in-laws in Yorkshire and find them recovering from a nasty bout of flu. I can't believe how much the grass has grown in a week, and the frogs have spawned in the pond. They came back!
