The Request Stop
Damems, a tiny wayside station on our local preserved railway line, Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, is a ‘request only’ stop. The yellow flag is the Station Master’s way of alerting the train driver that he requires the train to stop so that a passenger or passengers can board. The driver is on the look-out for the flag as he nears the station, so that he can draw up in time alongside the short platform.
Many thanks indeed to all kind blippers who visited and left lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s ‘The Footplate Boys’. Your kind words are much appreciated
