Six
Day Six of Thirty.
Bank holidays. You gotta love them. A gentle drive along country roads with somebody constantly up your arse trying to get somewhere that bit quicker than everybody else. Then, if it's not a garden centre or DIY shop, it's trying to fight through the packs of visitors wandering around awakening-from-hibernation visitor attractions. This one, the ferry point over to Loch Leven Castle at Kinross had given up trying to keep with the visitors today. We sat here for half an hour, enjoying the sunshine, chatting about just how misanthropic I've become, and forcing down a cup of dull as dishwater coffee (needed though, to wash down the stale scone that went with it), and still no-one attempted to come and clear the table.
This part of Scotland just wasn't ready for an Easter Monday bank holiday and great weather.
Wasn't actually cycling at this point, more scouting out the routes around here. There's part of the National Cycle Network (Route 1) and the Loch Leven Heritage Trail that takes you around the Loch and through the RSPB Nature Reserve and past the Scottish Gliding Centre too. Will no doubt head back soon with a bike. When there's less people and the scones are better.
Kept up the #30DaysOfBiking with a quick run out in the evening, after wolfing into a huge plate of haddock and chips at a much more civilised Inn off the major tourist route on the road home.
