A Walk in the Park!

Strolled in the baking 29 deg C heat through the Arganzuela park to a wonderful Peruvian restaurant for our Sunday lunch!  It was full of folk out enjoying the unseasonably hot weather, whole families walking along, several generations together, chatting away.  There were people roller blading, skateboarding, cycling, jogging and doing exercises and others lying sunbathing.  A lovely atmosphere.

This is the famous spiral bridge, which is an amazing structure and also affords a pretty good view of Athletico Madrid's Vicente Calderon stadium. Oh yes, we're packing in the sight seeing!

Excellent meal with lots of things we hadn't tasted before - and are unlikely to come across again for a while - including fried yucca, lucuma and ceviche, all delicious!   My brother and his wife had been before and the fact that it was jam packed with Peruvians and there was a queue out the door were good signs!

Early night as we have to be up before 6am tomorrow for the flight home . . .
