Vienna Opera House

Day 1 of my city break to Vienna.

I visited the Mozarthaus - the apartment where the maestro lived and composed works such as 'The Marriage of Figaro' during his time in Vienna; then the Haus der Musik museum where I conducted the Vienna Philharmonic in a performance of Hungarian Dance No. 2 by the means of a very clever motion sensitive baton and video. After that I joined the queue for €3 standing tickets at the opera and was successful but decided to leave after 2 hours of what was going to be 5 hours of Wagner's 'Parsifal' to have time to wander the Ringstrasse at night. I ended my first day with coffee and a mini trio of cakes (I couldn't make my mind up) in a Viennese cafe by the theatre. I love this place and I've only been here one day!
