Earth?

The arrival of MonoMonday always, always takes me by surprise. And with the addition of the Earth challenge I was sorely tempted to just post a bird and ignore the whole thing. But. This here - this blip - is of the earth under our big front yard Magnolia. Clearly it is too shady and covered with fallen Magnolia leaves for anything to be under there except dirt earth. The tree itself we planted maybe 20 years ago? More? I don't remember. It's gotten quite large and despite damage from various ice storms over the years, it looks pretty much as a Magnolia Grandiflora should look. And in June it will have some lovely huge fragrant blossoms!
