Brightness and shadow

Different people learn in different ways. Mine is try, error, error, error, read a small bit of manual. Try, error, error, error, read another small bit of manual. Try, error, error, error, read another small bit of manual. Try, succeed! how did that happen? read another small bit of manual. Try, error, error, error, read another small bit of manual. Etc. Of the 111 pictures I took with my new camera today, in the superb sunshine that most of the country seemed to have yesterday when we didn't, I have deleted 90. Most of the rest I’ve kept because they teach me what not to do. So far I have read very little of the manual indeed. But I’m enjoying the process.
