Year Three

Prescription sunglasses!

Finally! Got a proper pair of prescription sunglasses - that look like proper sunglasses.

I say prescription, which they aren't quite yet. I never knew these things existed, but you can buy sunglasses that have an insert (rx insert it's called). The insert contains the prescription lenses and then clicks inside the sunglasses.

Apparently, cyclists have been using RX inserts since the 80s! And I've only just found out about them.

I'll have these down to the optician tomorrow and should have them back either Wednesday or Thursday. So looking forward to it.

The other thing in the post today was the new 128G CF card for work this summer. I used one last summer - and promptly lost it when I was packing to come home. I'm thinking it's still in Italy. But I can't take that chance, so I needed a new one.

Interestingly it's a 800x speed card - and a quick test and it is viscously fast. Looking forward to using it.

I've also been buying in smaller cards as well. I figure that I want to have way more storage available to me than needed. I remember one day last year where there was a problem, I had to work the day without my 128G card, and ended up putting all the images on the cards I had, even taking the MacBook and card reader just to get another 30G. And I still didn't have enough storage. IIRC, I even used an incredibly slow 4G card at the end of the afternoon. A hard lesson to learn.

This year, I have maybe 144G in smaller 32 and 16G cards. May still buy just one more 16 or 32 card just to be sure.....that would give me maybe 176G..... (plus 128G on the main card).
