Perhaps it was being passed
back and forth;
each taking a sip
and then returning it
till one butterfingers
let it slip?

Or, perhaps, once they’d emptied it
and were smashed themselves,
they thought it wouldn’t matter
if they hurled it to the ground
in the public park
(such a lark!)
just to watch it shatter?
