The Pheasant and the Daffodil.

Although a backblip - Happy Easter everyone!

A pleasant day, my brother came to lunch with the three of us.  I don't think I mentioned that the farmyard was burgled on Friday night and we had the police with us yesterday.  A quad bike and a heavy log splitter were taken.  There were two other raids on farms in the area the same night, unfortunately the "gypsies"  were at the top of the list as suspects.  There are several camps in our area and they are all related and "collect" farm items to sell on the next day probably in the next county.  A well organised system.  

Yesterday K, T's girlfriend was driving along the top road and saw a truck parked in the gateway and the driver aiming a sling shot at one of the sheep in the field we have rented out.  K followed him, he realised and turned round sharply, by then T was on to the scent and followed him in his truck.  He realised where he was going and phoned another farmer who lives right next to the camp and sure enough there was the truck rushing into the compound like a bat out of hell with the driver running into his mobile home.  It was all very unnerving but it is to be expected with farm machinery in the countryside.  So now we must step up our security even more as the police said to expect them back in a  few weeks' time when we have got replacements.
