Last night in Brisbane

There was a good atmosphere in the city during Easter but it's a terrible time to be a tourist. Shops (including supermarkets) are closed and even most bars, cafes and restaurants! It was actually difficult getting any food at some points. On Good Friday it's actually illegal to sell alcohol, so instead of everyone going out and having fun like back in the UK, they're forced to stay home. It seems like there are quite a lot of restrictive laws. You're never allowed to drink in public so it's not possible to grab some beers and sit in the park enjoying the sunshine.

Today was the first day where everything was open again, so I went with Sharon to the city centre to watch the world go by for a while. Then after a nice burrito we bought some beer and went back to the hostel to wait for the others to arrive. We got through quite a few beers and then said our goodbyes! My Couchsurfing experience may have not been great but it was definitely worth it for the lovely people I met there.
