Capital Ring 3: Missed the last Train

Former Crouch End station now on the parkland walk.

A cold easter Saturday but didn't get more than a few spots of rain on our 12 mile walk along the Capital Ring from Hendon to Stoke Newington. At the hendon end it is quite near the North Circular, but it is amazing how much green space there is right next to one of the busiest roads in London. How many times we drove past and never knew. Also quite near SR's old stomping ground near Golders Green and through bits of Hampstead Garden Suburb. Although it is upsetting on many levels to be eyed up suspiciously in your own city by the locals "security".

The highlight is probably the Parkland walk along the old disused railway from Highgate to Finsbury park. Not much chance of a train here SR! Also had no idea about the extent of the Abney Park Cemetery in Stokie - the first European Garden cemetery that was non-denominational.

Lets hope it takes less than a year to do the next section.  See also
