Lunchtime in Eixample
We were up, dressed and all smiley and shiny to greet our lodger N this morning at 8am. She arrived on time and seems very nice and very happy with the room and house. She was tired as she'd travelled on an overnight bus to Bcn, so after a very brief orientation she went to settle into her room and have a rest as she starts work this afternoon. She seems friendly, open, comfortable in her skin (is that a bad French translation?!) and respectful and if first impressions are anything to go by, I think it will all be fine.
What else? I made apple and pear crumble to use up the fruit and then our good friend Alistair popped in for a catch up and coffee. Always nice to see him and it was good to introduce him to N and get them to exchange numbers - Alistair knows our house (almost) better than we do and pops in when we're not here to check everything's ok and make sure there's nothing urgent-looking in the mail.
Bb and I walked out in the afternoon and delivered our last quarter papers to our assessora and then meandered down Eixample and into the centre. My blip's of the terrace in front of Bb's, here:
