Today is a new day...

Killinallan

We headed out to Killinallan for a picnic on the beach. The sun was shining again - we have been so fortunate with the weather. Even although we have been to this part of the island many times, I am still taken aback by the beautiful views. The tide was particularly low and the sandbanks exposed, making beautifully gentle stripes in the seascape. The colours were lovely. We walked around the headland before picnicking in the perfect spot. Well, it would have been the perfect spot if the biggest bumble bee in Scotland hadn't had its eye on it too. Eventually we managed to ward off the massive bee and relax just as a fighter plane just about frightened the life out of us as it flew over the sand dunes right above us and shattered the absolute peace!!

When we recovered from the shock, we headed back along the deserted beach.

I have lots of photos of the beach and views but Semi-Q would never forgive me for not posting this one. It really made her day. Two brand new lambs came scampering over to us as we headed home. One went to the mother and the other couldn't find her and came over to us. Too cute really! (Except that Mum had very big sharp looking horns!)

A quick coffee and chat at Debbie's on the way back and then a wee trip round to Port Wemyss to see Mr Q's Dad and sister who had arrived on the afternoon ferry.
