Cape Reinga and Sand Dune day
An Easter getaway which feels well earned. The kids wanted to go all the way to the top of the North Island to see the lighthouse. We've been and done that today, and it is the first visit that I've had up there that was clear and hot and calm. Normally it is blustery and chilly, even when I've been in summer.
We followed our visit up there with a stop at the Giant Te Paki Sand dunes. The Eldest had a massive can out when surfing down them on her boogie board. I took all the photos before checking she was intact...it's not like getting to her immediately would have changed her injury...would it? More bruised pride and a decent mouthful of sand. I was dreading that she might have broken her arm again.
Fantastic day and super hot.
