Stramash!

On Thursday afternoon Scotland Women played Australia Women in an international friendly match at The Falkirk Stadium. There was free entry for members of the Scotland Supporters Club and so I decided to go along.

A scrappy first half, during which the Australia goal-keeper saved a Scotland penalty kick, ended with the visitors 1-0 in the lead, thanks to a goal-keeper's error at the other end. Having said that, she saved the team on several other occasions and Scotland might have been further behind if it wasn't for her.

A better second-half display by the hosts, culminating in a finely-worked goal before a procession of substitutions by both sides, meant the match finished tied at 1-1. A pleasant afternoon out in the sun.
