Produce day

I have a day now and then when all efforts are devoted to producing food. It's not my thing really but I love to have fresh vegetables to cook with. So today was mostly weeding the veg beds. CH divided the rhubarb crown to give us another two plants. The bed was given a mulch of garden compost. I fed the spinach and strawberry bed and sowed seeds of aubergine and beetroot. Doesn't seem much for a day's efforts but it all looks so much better. Will try forcing some of the rhubarb in a few days. You can harvest it until midsummer then allow it to rest and build strength. We have enough for a small crumble tomorrow.
