A poor substitute
I don't mean to imply I was unhappy about how nicely this blackbird posed for me this afternoon when the sun finally came out and encouraged me to take a walk in the park; however it is a poor substitute for the photo I didn't get when a pileated woodpecker visited the Bird Bistro for the very first time today...or at least the first time I ever saw it out my kitchen window. I considered trying to crank open the window to get a shot but knew it was a hopeless situation. Turn the crank, and the bird would be instantly gone. So I settled for just watching and enjoying. That's why the blackbird is posing for today's blip.
If you like squirrels, take a look here to see the little red squirrel I blipped in the park today.
