A man and his dog

I see this man with his dog nearly every day on my way to work. The dog was a police dog in Czechoslovakia and the man was his handler. I love this dog. His eyes convey a happy soul and kindness even though he protected and served. The man lovingly pets the dog, down on hands and knee. Seeing them was such a nice way to start the day, but since the first of the year they have been missing. I saw them a few times and then nothing; I feared the worst. You see the dog has MS and it is increasingly more different to walk. He is prone to bladder infections now. The man now hoists his back legs and the dog moves along. His eyes still show alertness. You can see the love they have for each other.
