Clivia miniata
It rained during the night and early morning and a chill wind blew up. After the relative warmth of the last few days it has felt very cold and I haven't been out and about much. It has felt a bit of a luxury to laze about the house reading the papers and drinking too much tea.
This plant, also known as a Kaffir Lily, is a native of South African forests, not uncommonly grown here as a house plant. It was a present a few years back from my friend and blip friend Rosiecatwoman and is just coming into flower. The leaves are starting to yellow a bit which may indicate either that it got a bit cold over the winter or that it has been exposed to too much direct light (woodland plants aren't used to too much of that for obvious reasons).
