Times Of My Life

Let the fun commence!

Our village park has been in a state of upheaval for months. It belongs to the village, rather than to the Council, and we have a great Methven Parks Association committee who do all kinds of things to fundraise for the upkeep of it.

The latest venture was to get rid of all the outdated old play equipment, and re-landscape and re-furbish it.  Last week most of the barriers came down, and the local kids were able to get in and start enjoying it to the full.  Coming home from town today I expected to see it heaving, but due to the fact that the wind was blowing very chill, and there had just been a crazy hailstorm, there were only 2 hardy wee lassies playing on the swings.

Collected my car from the garage at lunchtime, still not fixed.  The part they needed for the rattly exhaust had not come in, and they could not hear the squeak/screech/squeal I complained about.  It will have to go back in on Tuesday when they get the part.

I'm really disappointed: why on earth would they not have ordered the part last Tuesday when I booked it in, since they had told me exactly what I needed when it had it's MOT last month.

Garage-guy told me "It'll only take 1/2 an hour to fit the part"; let's see if they only charge me for 1/2 an hour's labour!
