A Walk in the Woods

It's been a lovely day, most of which has been spent in the garden or walking in the woods.

Sadly we found a dead Sparrowhawk (in the garden) - I did think about using it for a blip but it didn't seem right. So we've contacted the Predatory Birds Monitoring Scheme who are sending us a pack so that we can send the bird to them. They will do various tests to detect and quantify current and emerging chemical threats to the environment.

The plan had been to bury the bird, but I did a quick Google search for what to do with a dead bird of prey and the PBMS came up.So its death won't be totally in vain.
