That's my attempt at transliterating 'Eat your greens' into Latin!
These Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum) are in flower in profusion on grass verges all over Devon at the moment. According to my online research (winding up at the Eden Project site) every part of the plant is edible.
Also called horse parsley, it was introduced to Britain by the Romans, and grows on cliff tops and in seaside hedgerows. It's certainly very pretty with its lime green flowers.
