WHITE FACED HERON

The birding season is starting to improve a bit in numbers now that they have done their nesting and the youngsters are coming on in the feather,  Some local twitching the last few days has shown up some varieties that return this time of the year.  The godwits and other transient wading birds have gone with only a few youngsters remaining here in ChCh.
here is a pair of Whitefaced herons who are happy to have their own company now.
