Manchester

We spent the day in Manchester and although we go there quite regularly, we decided to explore the Northern Quarter for a change.  We were glad we did!

The Northern Quarter offers fabulous restaurants, trendy bars, cafes and coffee houses, a beautiful Design and Craft Centre (some of which we tried and tested!), emporiums and independent shops selling all sorts of weird and wonderful things from retro clothing and rare vynils to unusual furniture and great art.

It also had the biggest number of bearded young gentlemen (Hipsters I believe to be the term) that I've seen in many years.  Mr. Selfridge eat your heart out!

It is a very up and coming part of Manchester and one which we will definitely be seeing a lot more of in the future, especially for the many different types of restaurants.
