Marvels and Mirages of Orientalism:
From Spain to Morocco, Benjamin-Constant in His Time

Justin and I visited the art museum this afternoon where we enjoyed several exhibits, including this one in the Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion, which featured the work of Benjamin Constant (1845-1902) and other artists of his time.

Benjamin Constant was an internationally renowned French painter of harems, portraits of emirs and Moroccan street scenes. His work was influenced by a visit to Morocco in 1872, however, his art depicted fictional scenes painted in his Paris studio.
