Known unto God
A row of Commonwealth War Graves Commission gravestones in the cemetery at Sandwick. These are dedicated to the memory of sailors who drowned in the tragic sinking of HMY Iolaire on 1 January 1919, in which more than 200 island men perished. The identity of some bodies was never established - but is known unto God.
