Tyntesfield
Sticking with a 'vintage' theme this weekend, I stopped of at the Gothic Revival Victorian monstrosity that is Tyntesfield.
National Trust, need I say more?
Anyway, I had a good time regardless of having to make my way through endless cafes, shops and plant sales to get to the actual gardens and house.
Took a few photo's of interesting details in the house. Only the second house in the UK to have electric lighting! The steam engines that generated the electricity are no longer there, alas...
Tough choice of Blip. Took a lot of good flower ones, as well as some nice details of the house in mono. Was tempted by the photo of some penguins on a bench, with a sign saying: South Pole, but in the end decided for something that represents the house and its inhabitants in its era of Gothic Revival Glory.
