Elizabethan Salford

Plans for today were changed due to the weather .As I was getting ready the sound of a boat engine was to be heard .Looking through the window I saw Water Womble and her crew of two busy clearing the rubbish fools so carelessly chuck in the canal .They told me this was done once a month and not for the faint hearted .My offer to lend a hand may well be considered . Then off to Ordsall Hall , a building dating back to Elizabethan times . Salford Council bought this beautiful place and in a winning 30-18 vote , made sure it was to be renovated .
Note ) one of the opposition described it as "a heap of rubbish" I would say l he either lacked vision or had plans ! The building is beautiful both inside and out .Admission is free, there is a delightful cafe , many events and drama  a shop and educational programmes . Original window frames are still present as are all the roof tiles .If you are in Salford do try to fit a visit in .Now why the Guy Fawkes street sign ? There is a book where the author includes Guy Fawkes and writes that he was in the north west and hid out around Ordsall Hall .This  fiction  ensured  a street with the  name . Like most change of plans todays were rather lovely .I will be back there next week .
