Vaisakhi

The bus into town was delayed by several police vehicles so the passengers decamped and had a look at what was occurring.  Nothing unpleasant, in fact quite the opposite.  It was a Sikh festival, Vaisakhi (I had to look that up), and members of the community along with some dignitaries (in the float) were walking along part of the Headrow.  Several people were sweeping and cleaning the road in front of the float, and there was lots of singing.  What I really liked was that they had a chap on the loudspeaker explaining what was happening.  And also that they had a bus towards the end of the parade for folks who were less able to walk.
