Sheep on a sunny day
Brought to Iceland by the Vikings in the 10th century, the Icelandic sheep is one of the worlds oldest and purest breeds of sheep. They are very tough and cold hardy. This flock was enjoying the sunshine in Hveragerði, a small village east of Reykjavík city.
