Tower Bridge.
We went up to London today to go and see Maxim Vengerov play at the Royal Festival Hall. He's my favourite violinist and his concerts always get sold out very quickly - and at ridiculous prices - but we managed to get two really good seats in the choir stalls. That was about half a year ago, and I've been extremely excited since. He played Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto - which I absolutely adore - with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and afterwards they played Shostakovich's Symphony No10. Shostakovich is my favourite composer, so it really was a fantastic concert. After Maxim played his concerto, he played an encore of a couple of Bach's Partitas. In a hall full of however many thousands of people, you could have heard a pin drop; it was so magical.
I decided to take my Yashica with me; I've reserved her use for special occasions since developing is rather expensive (and I'm rather poor). I'm also still getting over some teething issues like lighting and colour problems, but I'm getting there.
Anyway, we had a bit of time to kill before the concert, so we went to go and see the poppies at the Tower of London - since it's also Armistice weekend. They were ok, but I think they got far too much hype. The time that went into them and what they stand for is definitely appreciated, but after wading through crowds of people just to get one view, it didn't seem quite worth it. I was trying to get a few shots with my Yashica of the poppies, but none of them seemed too promising and I didn't want to waste any film. So here's a very touristy picture of Tower Bridge instead.
