Adam's Peak

Really shouldn't have done this.

Left the hotel at midnight for a two hour bus journey to the bottom of Adam's Peak.

This is a pilgrimage carried out by Buddhists. The aim is to get to the top to watch the sun rise. It's 7km climb to the top up 5400 steps. Absolutely exhausting just to get to the top and then you have to come back down. Agony.

2 hour coach rider back to the hotel, a quick shower and then we were off again. :(

Adam's Peak is where Buddha placed his last footstep before entering paradise or where Adam placed his first footstep entering earth. It's also known as the place that butterflies go to die.
