Llandegfedd Visitor & Watersports Centre
Llandegfedd (Llandegveth) Reservoir and Country Park is a water supply reservoir set in the beautiful rolling landscapes of South Wales, near Pontypool. This beautiful new place to visit includes a state-of-the-art Watersports and Visitor Centre and opened at Easter 2015.
A watersports tuition and equipment hire service (formerly known as Gwent Adventures) runs from the new Watersports Centre. Courses and activities in sailing, windsurfing, power boating, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking will all be available during term time and during the school holidays for children.
Heavily stocked with bank and boat fishing available for rainbow and brown trout, Llandegfedd reservoir is a popular venue for fishing and angling competitions.
As well as sailing and fishing, visitors will be able to select one of four walking trails and picnic. Families with children will be able to play, climb, explore the woodland and enjoy the array of wildfowl that visit and reside around the reservoir which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in recognition of its value to wintering wildfowl.
When you need to recharge your batteries, enjoy a bite to eat and drink while enjoying the spectacular view from our brand new Visitor Centre and café. Owned by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, the aim is that their recreation sites act as hubs for health and enjoyment: a shop window for people to enjoy their environment and learn how they can help Welsh Water improve their part of the world. If you are planning to tour around, you’ll find recreation sites throughout Wales.
Educational visits for schools are catered for by arrangement.
