Common butterbur
Another trip to Duns with MrM this afternoon, and an appointment with the solicitor necessitating the consumption of chocolate buttons immediately afterwards!
Then a walk by Blackadder Water from Mouth Bridge. Overcast and wintry, but very pleasant walking through carpets of pungent wild garlic, with primroses on the river banks and bluebells coming up (but not yet in flower). Lots of these common butterbur bursting through the ground. MrM and I often refer to them as 'toilet brush flowers' - well, they do look rather like toilet brushes...
