Strip Lynchets
Back blip.
This is a view of some of the manicured grounds behind Doddington House. I was fascinated by the strips of layers in the hill on the right. I have been told they are called strip lynchets but am willing to be corrected!
I posted yesterday's back blip in rather a hurry and omitted to say that we walked 15 and a half miles yesterday:-( In addition, we were kindly given a lift to the local pub (the only pace to eat) but had to find our own way home. It was only one and a half miles but along a very busy road, so we decided to get a taxi. NO TAXI WOULD COME as it wasn't worth their while..... SO, we walked a mile across a field of long grass, a field of kale and another field of grass. We had to walk up and down the walls between each field in the dark trying to find a gap and finally over two stiles to creep in the back garden of our B and B. My shoes were soaked and muddy so I dried them on the radiator and now they are smaller and crispy! It was not the best evening I have ever had! 16 and a half miles, soaking wet and muddy and still one day to go!!
