Sasha Doll

When I was visiting Mum over Easter I sorted out a few boxes of my older possessions.  They included many letters and diaries, which provided amusing reading.  They also included my baby Sasha doll.  Sasha dolls were created by a Swiss artist called Sasha Morgenthaler. Her idea was for her dolls to come in girl, boy and baby versions and in different skin tones.  Her first dolls were called studio dolls, and were produced from 1942-1975.  Sasha's hopes for all children to be able to have access to her dolls resulted in them being produced in series from 1965 until 1986. This doll dates from the 1970s.
