Bug beds
The Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre in Grangemouth is a wonderful little place run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. In former industrial land there are lots of little nooks and crannies, ponds and plants, all designed to encourage wildlife to set up home here, or at least drop by on their travels.
For the human visitor there are paths to explore and all sorts of bird and insect (and probably more) attractions to spot, if one is observant enough. I must admit I don't fall into the very observant category, but it is a place that I like to drop by from time to time. Today was one such day.
The bug hotel didn't look as if it was doing great business, but I'm sure first appearances were deceptive as they're probably all down by the pool or in the bar.
