Casualty Clearing!!
Day Thirty
Overnight three of the lads went down with a virus, vomiting and diarrhoea, having made sure they were ok and in capable hands the fourteen remaining lads set off for day two of the tournament.
Yesterday's results of W1 - D1 - L1 meant Falmouth were second in their group and could have been in with a chance, however the remaining fourteen lads from Falmouth Rugby Club were up against three squads who had each brought squads of 24+ players and were able to put out virtually a fresh team each match.
During another hot day they came up against three teams of bigger fresher lads every forty-five minutes. Watching and encouraging from the touch line I now understand the phrase
"makes your heart swell with pride"
the fourteen of them gave everything to the point where they were exhausted.
The evening was given to the presentation ceremony, fourth place in a group of five and awarded the Most Sporting Team in their age group.
A quiet evening as three sick and fourteen exhausted lads fell into bed.
