Ridge and Furrow

It was a wonderful spring morning for a walk! Cows have recently been let out on this small field, known in the village as the Ridge field. You can see some of the ridges here.
Ridge and furrow is the " result of ploughing with non-reversible ploughs on the same strip of land each year. It is visible on land that was ploughed in the Middle Ages, but which has not been ploughed since then". Wikipedia
Fascinating to think that these ridges have endured through the centuries!
