Long ago, in a galaxy far away

There once was a really big country called Union of Soviet Socialist Republic. There were also others, called Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. There was East Germany and West Germany. When I studied Polish history in grade school, I learned about "rozbiory", or instances when Poland ceased to exist and was divided among its three neighbors. Three times it happened! It was weird to imagine it. It was also weird to consider that my grandparents, born in Lvov in 1910, were born in then-Poland, but now-not Poland.

This beauty was saved from demise by Husband Dear and now it proudly stands in our living room reminding me of times not so long time ago, but how long ago nevertheless...
