Hedsor House

Today's destination was Hedsor House near Taplow in Berkshire, where Fiat staged a driving day with its new 500X.

This beautiful Georgian style house is the current building on a site where there has been a manor house dating back to 1166. It stands in beautiful parkland with longhorn cattle grazing in fields fringed by some amazing, huge ancient trees.

The house is in great demand both as a wedding venue and as a film set. It was the location of 'Beecham House' in Dustin Hoffman's film Quartet, which starred Dame Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon and Billy Connolly. I haven't seen it, but I'm now going to make a point of doing so.
